Authorities suspend search for missing swimmer at South Padre Island
Authorities have suspended the search for the missing swimmer at South Padre Island.
The South Padre Island Police Department notified the U.S. Coast Guard of the missing swimmer on Friday.
According to the Coast Guard, the report came in around 2:30 p.m. The missing swimmer was described as a Black male in his 20s, approximately 6'2 and 170 pounds. He went missing off the beach access near 310 Padre Boulevard.
The U.S. Coast Guard utilized a boat and a helicopter to help search the area and received assistance from the South Padre Island Beach Patrol, fire and police department and EMS.
