Convenience Store Robbery Suspect Charged

SAN JUAN – A suspected serial robber caught on surveillance video at San Juan convenience store is behind bars.

Leonardo Navarro is charged with robbery, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance and failure to ID.

Police say walked into a Stripes store off Raul Longoria Road and demanded money from the clerk. Moments later, Navarro is seen throwing punches as the employee fights back.

Navarro was able to get away with about $150.  

Investigators believe Navarro committed similar crimes in other cities.
