Council Passes Texting While Driving Ordinance in RGC
RIO GRANDE CITY – Rio Grande City officials are warning people about texting and driving.
The city council passed the new ordinance last week allowing tickets to be issued to violators.
Beginning April 1, anyone caught texting and driving in city limits will be fined up to $500.
Several Rio Grande Valley cities also have a texting and driving ban in place. It is already banned in all school zones across the state.
