BROWNSVILLE - More than 100 people hope their dog is one of 271 animals rescued this week in Los Fresnos.

Cameron County Public Health Administrator Esmeralda Guajardo says reuniting animals with their owners is not an easy task.

They’re working on contacting everyone who completed a reunification form.

On Sunday, anyone who has filled out a form will have the opportunity to see if their missing pet is among the dogs in the shelter.

But Guajardo warns the owners, "the dog that they had five months ago is not going to look the same today."
