A former McAllen police officer is now part of a three-person indictment.

Ricardo Ruiz was arrested Friday.

He worked for the McAllen police department from 2005 to 2017. Ruiz also was a federal task force officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration from 2014 to 2017.

The former officer is accused of pretending to be a DEA agent after he was no longer with the agency.

He's also facing charges for interference with commerce by threat or violence and lying to the government.

Ruiz is scheduled to face a judge on Monday.
