Harlingen, TX (KRGV) — Valley International Airport announced it will conduct an emergency drill.

The airport will conduct its triennial airport emergency drill from 3:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Oct. 28. FAA regulations require a full scale emergency exercise at least once every 36 consecutive calendar months.

Airport officials asked the public not to be alarmed by more emergency vehicles in the area during that time.

"We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the citizens of Harlingen so we may briefly test our operational emergency plans to ensure our readiness to keep our traveling public safe," airport officials said.
