Harlingen and La Feria firefighters battle house fire, 2 women rescued
Two women were rescued after the two-story home they were in caught fire Wednesday afternoon, according to the Cameron County Fire Marshal's Office.
The fire was reported shortly after 2 p.m. near Glenn Way Drive and Bass Boulevard in Harlingen, and La Feria and Harlingen firefighters responded to the blaze.
According to the fire marshal's office, the house was occupied by a woman in her 80s and a woman in her 50s. No injuries were reported in the fire.
The Cameron County Constable Precinct 5 office is asking people to avoid the area and use alternate routes to give emergency crews room to work.
