The city of Harlingen is hosting a community event to celebrate receiving the 2026 All-America City award.

The All-America City Community Celebration is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 14, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lozano Plaza, located at Jackson Avenue and A Street.

City leaders accepted the award in Denver, Colorado, on June 28.  It was part of a nationwide competition and Harlingen was the only city in Texas selected this year.

The event will offer free food, drinks, snow cones and merchandise while supplies last. There will also be a DJ and laser tag.
