WESLACO - Health officials nationwide are scrambling to find the cause of all vaping related illnesses.

The number of cases continues to rise but no one thing identified as the culprit.

The CDC is focusing in on THC vaping products but officials say they aren't sure yet if the problem is THC or the fillers to make the liquid thicker.

Officials also say a big concern is people getting products from friends or on the street with no idea what they are actually smoking.

The Texas Department of Health told us in the state there are 54 cases and six in the region.

One of the six is confirmed to be in Hidalgo County
