EDINBURG – Hidalgo County is making sure their voting machines are checked, tested and ready to go for Election Day.

The Hidalgo County Elections Administration is in the process of completing both logic and accuracy tests to make sure the votes are being counted properly.

According to a report by the DEF CON Cybersecurity Convention, a number of voting machines used were vulnerable to hackers.

KRGV’s John Paul Barajas spoke with Hidalgo County Elections Systems Manager Michael Sosa.

He says they never ran into issues but decided to upgrade the machines in 2017.
