This past offseason, the Cowboys were linked to trade rumors involving Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

When Crosby was traded to the Ravens in March, it seemed that pursuit fell short. However, the deal that would’ve sent Crosby to Baltimore fell apart due to a failed physical. Amid the drama, Crosby stayed a member of the Las Vegas Raiders, and some wondered what team might emerge as a new suitor for the two-time second team All-Pro.

Ultimately, trade talks didn’t heat back up from that point forward, and Crosby remains a member of the Raiders.

At the opening press conference of training camp, Jerry Jones was asked why the team seemingly lost interest in Crosby. A claim that he quickly rebuffed.

"We did not walk away, that’s about all there is to say," Jones said. "We had understood his injury well. He is such a Raider, and we shouldn’t be having this kind of discussion."

Jones did also note that the Cowboys were in talks with another general manager on a trade to improve the roster as recently as Monday, though he wouldn’t reveal which team or player that might be.

Nevertheless, Jones seemed to shut down any thought that a deal for Crosby could still be in the works, and it appears Crosby is staying a Raider at least for the time being.
