SAN JUAN – A local group commended National Voter Registration Day by holding registration events in the Rio Grande Valley.

The Equal Voice Network of Hidalgo and Cameron counties had members registering people at Junior’s Supermarket in San Juan.

A second registration event is at the Brownsville Community Health Center on 191 East Price Road.

Members say they set up as a reminder to not forget about registration and to vote.

They added you can stop by your county elections department before Oct. 7 to make sure you are registered to vote in the Nov. 5 election.
