BROWNSVILLE – This week, authorities learned the alleged gunman in a mass shooting in Ohio purchased his weapon online from a shop in Texas.

Anthony Morales of Brownsville says buying his gun online was an option, but didn’t feel comfortable and wanted to know exactly who he was buying the gun from.

Morales shopped around for about a year before deciding on a purchase.

The uncertainty led him to a local gun shop.

Mel Rodero, owner of a Brownsville gun store, says buying online doesn’t make the process any easier.

Firearm purchases online never ship directly to a residence.
