Man Wanted in Connection to 2015 Homicide Arrested following Attempt to Cross Border

NEAR MISSION – A man who was wanted in connection to a homicide in Hidalgo County has been charged.

Javier Rodriguez, 29, was arrested while attempting to cross back into the U.S. through the Hidalgo Bridge on Sunday.

Rodriguez is charged with capital murder in the deaths of two men outside of Mission – it happened in December of 2015.

Deputies believe three others worked with Rodriguez attempting to steal drugs.

Two other suspects are still at large.
