MCALLEN – A three-hour delay on a flight caused a domino effect on other flights scheduled to leave the Rio Grande Valley.

Allegiant flight 416 was scheduled to land Wednesday afternoon in McAllen. According to the airline, the plane left Las Vegas around noon.

Partway in El Paso, an airport vehicle rolled into the plane causing some damage. The airline said it sent another aircraft to pick up passengers.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS spoke to a Valley woman aboard the flight. She said everyone seems ready to come back home.

“I think everyone is kind of just wanting to go home… So, everybody is just waiting to get on the next flight,” she said.

Allegiant said they gave out meal vouchers along with credit to be used on their next trip.

People at the McAllen airport said they’ve also been waiting in line for nearly five hours.

Allegiant said the plane is expected to arrive after 1 a.m. Thursday.

People are advised to check their flight status online.
