New Defibrillators Added to Cameron Co. Ambulances
BROWNSVILLE – Emergency responders in Cameron County obtained the latest technology to help improve patients’ chances of survival.
The South Texas Emergency Care Foundation is placing 26 high-tech defibrillators inside their ambulances.
The defibrillators will serve patients from the Hidalgo County line to Brownsville city limits.
The devices, equipped with WI-FI and Bluetooth technology, will allow first responders to transmit real-time information about a patient to doctors in the emergency room.
Officials said the Legacy Foundation awarded them $1 million to purchase the equipment.
