OSHA to Investigate Fatal Workplace Accident in Primera
PRIMERA – A man is dead after a workplace accident involving a cement truck in Primera.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. Friday near a project site for Magic Valley Concrete.
The company identified the victim as Arturo Rodriguez, the driver of the truck.
Police Chief Manuel Trevino said Rodriguez had slipped off the wheels as the vehicle was moving, falling in the path of the tires.
Authorities are waiting for investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to arrive on scene to start their investigation.
A spokesperson with Magic Valley Concrete sent a statement saying:
“It is with great sadness that Magic Valley Concrete informs of the passing of employee Arturo Rodriguez today. Arturo Rodriguez was working at a project site in Harlingen when an accident occurred involving the cement truck he was operating, leading to Rodriguez’s fatality. Magic Valley Concrete holds all employees with highest regards, and extends its deepest sympathy, prayers to the Rodriguez family.”
