Palmview, TX (KRGV) — Palmview High School went into secure status Friday morning after the Palmview Police Department received a report of a potential threat, according to a La Joya Independent School District spokesperson.

The report came at around 8:41 a.m. and the campus immediately went into secure status. Palmview police, the La Joya ISD Police Department and Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office searched the campus.

Law enforcement determined the threat was not credible and there was no immediate threat to students or staff. The secure status has been lifted and normal campus operations have resumed.

Law enforcement agencies will keep an increased presence and patrol the campus throughout the day.
