Police officers testify in trial of man accused of killing San Benito police lieutenant
San Benito, TX (KRGV) — Jurors heard testimony from two San Benito police officers on day two of the capital murder trial of Rogelio Martinez, who is charged in the 2023 shooting death of a San Benito police lieutenant.
One officer testified he heard “I'M HIT,” San Benito police Lt. Milton Resendez said over the radio.
The officer then found Resendez unresponsive in his patrol unit.
Another officer testified that he and other officers got Resendez out of his patrol unit before they rushed him to the hospital in a U.S. Border Patrol vehicle.
