A woman is being interviewed by police as they look into “suspicious activity” in connection with the death of her 8-month-old child.

Raymondville Police Chief Uvaldo Zamora confirmed the investigation was underway.

According to Zamora, the child was brought to Valley Baptist Medical Center on Thursday and died shortly after 5 p.m.

Zamora said the incident happened on South King Street.

When asked if anyone was in custody in connection with the death, Zamora said the mother was being interviewed as police looked into “suspicious activity.”
