RGV Red Crowns set to host ATX United in the 3rd round of the U.S. Open Cup qualifiers
The RGV Red Crowns continue to make history in its second year as a franchise, advancing to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup qualifiers after defeating Central Texas Coyotes FC in the second round at Harlingen Field.
The semi-pro soccer club will once again defend home turf when it hosts ATX United, an Austin based club that competes in the Austin Men's Soccer Association (AMSA).
"We just need to be ready for them," RGV Red Crowns head coach Rafael Reyna said. "They're disciplined, they're aggressive, they can defend, and they can attack quick, so it's just one of those things that we need to make sure we're ready to match their intensity and just be disciplined."
The U.S. Open Cup third round qualifier match between the Red Crowns and ATX United takes place on Sunday at 4 p.m. in Harlingen Field.
