What started out as a home baking hobby turned into a business after Lupita Sanchez wanted to spend more time with her twins. 

“I would have customers order from me and my sister,” said Sanchez. “My sister was Drizzle Sweets and I was Cookie Place and Sweets, so we decided to combine them.”

Cookie Place and Sweets was born and, now, they reside in the heart of downtown Pharr. 

The self-taught bakers would watch videos and read books to perfect their recipes. 

 “We do a lot of detail on our cookies and we like to exceed our customer’s expectations,” Sanchez said. 

The sisters don’t just bake cookies. They also take orders for chocolate-covered Oreos, Rice Krispies, strawberries and apples for every occasion, including quinceañeras and birthday parties.

The business is currently only doing curbside at 208 E. Park Avenue in Pharr.
