Water Shutoff Expected for Brownsville Customers as Crews Replace Valves

BROWNSVILLE – The Brownsville Public Utilities Board will continue with the replacement of water valves that’ll affect hundreds of customers.

On Monday, March 19, starting at 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Tuesday, crews will work to install a 16-inch water valve at Coolidge Street and International Boulevard.

Approximately 200 customers living in Santa Elena, San Rafael, San Bernardo, French, English, San Lorenzo, German and Coolidge streets, including International Boulevard, will be impacted.

At the same time, crews will also be replacing another water valve at Boca Chica Boulevard and South Vermillion Avenue.

About 400 customers, including Senator Eddie Lucio Jr. Middle School and parts of El Naranjal Subdivision, will be affected.
