Edinburg police add more patrols to catch drunk drivers through July 6

The Edinburg Police Department has added more patrol officers on the roads to catch drunk drivers through July 6, 2026.
The effort is part of a high-visibility enforcement push funded by an $85,000 grant from the Texas Department of Transportation.
"Just drive responsibly, drive sober. Before you even have your first drink, make a plan and also encourage those around you to make a plan as well," Edinburg police spokesperson Felicia Barragan said.
