Free pet vaccination clinic set for October in Harlingen

Harlingen, TX (KRGV) — The Harlingen Health Department is hosting a free pet vaccination clinic on Oct. 10.
The clinic had 200 registration spots, but they filled up quickly. Now more spots are opening up because some registered pet owners live outside city limits.
"We had 200 available spots for registering and all those spots were filled yesterday. However, some of the people who did register are not from within city of Harlingen city limits. So, we are having to contact them and so we will open those spots back up," Harlingen Environmental Health Director Shannon Harvill said.
The department expects about 20 spots to open up. Each pet needs its own registration and households can register up to 5 pets.
Another pet vaccination clinic is planned for November.
