BROWNSVILLE - A group of Brownsville teachers are bringing new meaning to the term "Sunday School."
They are known as Team Brownsville. They're working to educate students who are seeking asylum in Matamoros.
Andrea Rudnik is one of the group's members.
Rudnik says the group teaches every Sunday morning at a plaza on the other side of the international bridge.
Rudnik says the children come from several different countries.
"They're fleeing violence from their own home countries. Which most of them are coming from that Northern Triangle from Guatemala, from El Salvador, from Nicaragua, from Honduras and then a few are coming from Venezuela, from other countries in South America and then you also have a few people from African, different African countries."
Around 40 children attended classes on Sunday.
They learned everything from Math, to Reading, Geography and Science.
The group is also considering holding more classes during the week.
