UTRGV volleyball currently sits at the top of the Southland Conference standings with a perfect 6-0 record, with five of them coming via sweep.
Next up for the Vaqueros is Stephen F. Austin, the team that knocked them out in the Southland Conference tournament championship title match last season. The Lumberjacks may have lost a conference game, but they still pose a challenge and will be not be taken lightly, according to head coach Todd Lowery.
"SFA doesn't make a lot of mistakes," Lowery said. "So, we have to be really good. We have to be low in errors and I think just us passing the ball well has been the key, so that will be the focus. I thought East Texas served us super aggressively against us and probably the first time somebody got to us a little bit in conference play, so it was good for us to go through that when we were off in receiving and how do we find another way to win and I thought the girls responded well."
The match between UTRGV and Stephen F. Austin takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
