3 Suffer Minor Injuries after Vehicle Collides with Constables Unit

NEAR HARLINGEN – A driver is in custody after striking a constables unit in a traffic stop in Cameron County.

Sergeant Maria Montalvo, with the Department of Public Safety, said the constable suffered minor injuries since he was inside his unit at the time of the collision.

The two occupants in the stopped vehicle also sustained minor injuries.

The incident occurred along westbound Frontage Road when a driver of a Chevy Blazer struck the constables vehicle, pushing off it the road, then crashed into the stopped vehicle.

The driver was arrested and is facing a driving while intoxicated charge.
