SAN BENITO- The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash.

It happened Tuesday afternoon on F.M. 510 west of Casey Road. 

Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Lincoln Navigator lost control and veered into on-coming traffic. The driver crashed head-on with a Toyota Corolla.

The two drivers and a passenger were taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center.

57-year-old Hermelinda Villegas of Mission died at the hospital.

Both drivers remain in the hospital and are in stable condition.
