Appeals court upholds conviction for former Valley hospice worker

EDINBURG – An appeal from a hospice worker turned convicted killer was denied.

An appeals court Thursday upheld Monica Melissa Patterson’s murder conviction and life sentence.

Patterson was found guilty in 2017 of killing Martin Knell for his money. She was listed as a beneficiary for the victim’s estate.
