NEAR MISSION – A state park will be on the path of a border wall that’s set to be constructed next year.

A spokesperson for the Texas Parks and Wildlife tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS the federal government will run a new wall through the Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park.

The wall would be a levee-bollard fence that will run 9,000 feet through the park.

Construction will start in February.
