Cameron County, TX (KRGV) — An inmate who died at the Carrizales Detention Center has been identified.

Javier Sepulveda, 58, died of illness and natural causes, according to a report obtained by Channel 5 News. He suffered a cardiac arrest in an ambulance while being transported to the hospital.

The incident occurred on Sunday, Sept. 20. According to the report, officials found Sepulveda on the floor of his cell experiencing seizure activity.

The report also notes Sepulveda had a medical history that included diabetes, asthma, hepatitis, kidney stones and arthritis.
