Monte Alto, TX (KRGV) — Monte Alto Independent School District learned an arrest warrant was issued for a school nurse accused of misconduct involving a student.

The district said it found out about the allegations earlier this month and suspended the employee right away.

Monte Alto ISD said it has worked with investigators and law enforcement. The district said it will review the arrest warrant with legal counsel and decide what to do next.

"The safety and well-being of our students remain the district's highest priority. Every employee is held to the same standards of conduct and the district is committed to applying its policies consistently and impartially," Monte Alto ISD said.

The district said it will keep working with authorities while protecting student privacy and respecting the ongoing investigation.
