MISSION – Condolences are coming from across the nation honoring Mission police officer Cpl. Jose Espericueta.

Several people visited the Mission Police Department to pay their respects.

Flowers, candles and thin blue line flags were placed.

Over the weekend, the community, police, federal agents all met to run in honor of Espericueta.

The group was inspired to start at the same time as a 10-year-old boy who lives in Florida.

Zechariah Cartledge runs a mile every time a first responder or police officer dies in the line of duty.
