The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a father and son north of McAllen.

The crash happened at approximately 11:38 a.m. Sunday on FM 2220 south of 6 Mile Line. Fabien Guerrero, 64, and his son, Fabien Diego Guerrero, 31, died as a result of the crash.

A preliminary investigation revealed a black 2026 Cadillac Escalade was traveling northbound on FM 2220. A white 2005 Toyota Scion was heading southbound when the driver veered into the northbound lane and hit the Cadillac.

Fabien Diego was identified as the driver of the Toyota; he died at the scene. Fabien, the passenger, was transported to DHR where he later died.

The driver and passenger of the Cadillac were also taken to DHR with non-life-threatening injuries.

DPS troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
