Girl Involved in Fatal Edinburg Crash Out of Hospital

UPDATE (5/20): A 13-yera-old girl in one of the two vehicles involved is now out of the hospital.

The girl was in the pickup truck.

EDINBURG – The Department of Public Safety is investigating a two vehicle crash that killed both drivers and injured a 13-year-old girl.

The crash happened early Friday morning on FM 1925 east of Cesar Chavez near Edinburg.

Troopers say a Chevrolet pickup and Chevrolet Suburban collided head-on on the westbound lane of FM 1925.

Fifty-three-year-old Reynaldo Cardoza and 56-year-old Jose Garza died at the scene.

DPS Lt. Johnny Hernandez says the driver of the Suburban, Cardoza, was traveling on the wrong side of the road.

A 13-year-old girl was in the pickup truck and was taken to the hospital. She is not listed in critical condition.

DPS troopers are still investigating the crash.
