ICE Working to Decrease Fraud in Migrant Families

WESLACO – More trained personnel are in the Rio Grande Valley to tackle immigration, human smuggling, and trafficking.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement says these experts include criminal analysts, interpreters, document analysts, interview specialists, and victim assistance specialists.

An ICE spokesman tells us they want to decrease the number of minors being exploited to gain access into the U.S.

In April, nearly 100 family units were interviewed; more than a quarter of the cases showed evidence of fraud.

ICE recognizes a family when the child is biologically related to the parents.
