WESLACO - Photographers at CHANNEL 5 NEWS have ridden on boats, flown in helicopters and sat in the back of patrol cars all for a good story. 

Photojournalist Marco Vecchio said while some stories are more exciting to shoot than others, police ride along stories are among his favorites. 

He explained there are many things to keep track of. "These shoots are always challenging, but my main objective is to make sure my reporter and I stay safe," he said.

Vecchio added spending several hours with police officers on the job is fun, but it can be dangerous in certain situations.
