A South Texas College official is donating items from his own closet to help students dress for job interviews.

STC VP for Institutional Advancement and External Affairs Rodney Rodriguez donated about 140 items, including suit jackets and dress shirts, to the Threads Closet on the STC Pecan Campus.

"If you're an STC student or alumnus, you're able to take whatever wardrobe you need for that specific occasion or interview," Rodriguez said. "It was my personal donation. I can tell you, I have been there. I have experienced what it is when you're lacking or when you don't have the things you need to be able to make that impression when you're trying to get that job."

The Threads Closet has helped students for five years. Students and alumni are eligible to grab an outfit.

People can donate money or professional dress attire through the college's foundation website.
