La Grulla, TX (KRGV) — Starr County Commissioner Precinct 3 and the La Grulla Fire Department announced they are handing out water to residents experiencing outages.

The city of La Grulla was conducting repairs at the water plant on Oct. 1, which led to water outages and low water pressure in some areas.

On Oct. 3, the city informed residents the issue had been repaired and water was flowing throughout the system.

Starr County Commissioner Precinct 3 is distributing bottled water and non-potable water to residents in the areas of Alto Bonito, La Victoria, La Paloma and La Grulla who are still experiencing water outages.

Distribution begins at 1 p.m. at Circle 7 Express, 7035 East U.S. Highway 83. Residents must bring an ID and their own containers for the non-potable water.

The La Grulla Fire Department is also handing out non-potable water at Alto Bonito Park. Residents must bring their own containers.

The city said many recent challenges are related to an ongoing transition as the city moves part of the water system from older infrastructure to newer infrastructure.
