WESLACO - If your car was stolen, there is a chance it could end up in Mexico and be used for criminal activity.

CHANNEL FIVE NEWS spoke to Homeland Security Investigator Mark Lippa who says they have found cars in Mexico that were stolen in the Valley, then when the coast was clear they would cross them through ports of entry.

Cartel members and other criminal organizations need these cars to transfer cartel soldiers, transport weapons and use them as scout vehicles.

If you have any information on a particular case or feel like you have been a victim of this crime, Lippa says you can contact your local law enforcement or Homeland Security Investigations at 1-866-347-2423.
