MCALLEN – The two suspects involved in a McAllen bank robbery were arraigned Tuesday.

Gilberto Lopez Jr., 46, and Elida Martha Decker, 37, were charged with robbery, a second-degree felony.

McAllen police responded to an IBC Bank located on North 10th Street Monday morning.

Police said Lopez walked inside the bank, demanded money and then fled in a vehicle.

The suspect vehicle was later involved in a crash on east bound Expressway 83. McAllen police said the driver lost control and crashed.

Officers then connected the vehicle to the bank robbery.

It isn’t known if anyone was hurt or if other vehicles were involved.

The bank is operating business as usual.

Lopez’s bond was set at $150,000 and Decker’s at $50,000.
