EDINBURG - Those planning to attend UTRGV in the Fall of 2020 should expect to pay more for tuition.

The University of Texas Board of Regents is increasing tuition by 7 percent at all of its academic institutions.

The increase goes into effect Fall semester 2020.

Current UTRGV students, including those in the school's Tuition Advantage program, will not be affected by the hike.

The board president said in a statement that over 4 years, 2020 freshmen will actually end up paying less of an increase because of the school's overall fixed tuition plan.
