WESLACO – He was a Rio Grande Valley native killed in the Walmart shooting in El Paso.

On Tuesday, Leo Campos’ mother filed a lawsuit, two months after the shooting attack claimed the lives of 22 people.

Campos was a 1996 graduate of Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School.

His mother accuses Walmart of not protecting its customers that day.

The suit also claims security guards were not patrolling the store when the alleged shooter stormed in.

It adds the store did not appear to have any armed guards, although a number of other Walmarts around the country do.
