The Santa Rosa high school football team is being forced to forfeit its non-district games due to an ineligible player.

The school district said in a statement that they self-reported the issue as soon as discovering the oversight. They also emphasized that this will not impact their district games, which in turn should mean their playoff edibility won't be impacted.

"We sincerely apologize to our community, parents, and students for this oversight," the statement went on to say. "We understand the disappointment this news may bring, and we take this matter seriously. We remain committed to ensuring that all applicable rules and regulations are followed moving forward"

Originally, the Warriors posted a 4-2 record in non-district play. They started district play against Odem with a 31-7 win on October 9th.
