Donna man burnt beyond recognition after vehicle crashes into Edinburg canal

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal crash that killed a Donna man after his truck went airborne and fell into a canal in Hidalgo County.
The crash happened at around 5:50 a.m. Sunday on Trenton Road, east of Tower Road, east of Edinburg. DPS identified the driver as 22-year-old Jesus Manuel Renteria.
According to a DPS spokesperson, preliminary reports showed Renteria was traveling eastbound in a red Ford F-150 when the vehicle went airborne and crashed into a canal.
The Ford caught fire and burnt Renteria beyond recognition.
DPS troopers continue to investigate the crash.
