New Stretch of Border Wall Confirmed to Start
MISSION - A new stretch of border wall is confirmed to start; it joins additional stretches in the valley the government says are funded and planned.
The most recent confirmed contract for a new section of border wall will begin on south of Conway in Mission, by Chimney RV Park.
The levee wall will follow an existing earthen levee for 11 miles ending in San Juan.
The government has also announced construction and funding for at least three other sections in the Valley.
Government plans to build additional sections in the area, they have their eyes on a total of at least 85 miles.
Not all of those projects have been funded at this point.
