One person detained in connection with Donna stabbing dispute

Donna, TX (KRGV) — The Donna Police Department detained a man in connection with a domestic dispute involving a stabbing.
Isaias Belmarez is accused of stabbing the victim multiple times. According to Hidalgo County Jail Records, he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and his bond was set at $25,000.
The incident occurred Friday, at around 10:25 p.m. in the 2600 block of East North Avenue.
Donna Police Chief Gilbert Guerrero said officers responded to a verbal disturbance and investigators are working to determine what happened.
The victim was admitted into an intensive care unit at a local hospital, according to Guerrero.
