Brownsville, TX (KRGV) — A serious two-vehicle crash left one driver in critical condition and closed Coffeeport Road near Thor's Hammer Road, according to the Brownsville Fire Department.

The crash was reported Tuesday at 9:10 p.m. at the intersection of Coffeeport Road and Thors Hammer Road. The fire department said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Crews found the driver of a sedan in critical condition and transported the driver for emergency medical care. Another person in the sedan was also transported.

Two people from the other vehicle were also transported, and officials have not released their conditions. Coffeeport Road remains closed in the area during the emergency response.

Officials urged drivers to avoid the intersection, use alternate routes, and let emergency personnel work safely.
