Passenger Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash in Weslaco, Driver Charged
WESLACO – A 28-year-old woman involved in an overnight deadly accident in Weslaco is facing charges.
Emergency crews responded to the scene near Texas Boulevard on Eastbound Expressway 83 around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say the driver, identified as Franshely Ahaida Salinas of Sullivan City, hit a car that was parked on the outside shoulder.
The passenger inside was ejected and died at the scene. The driver is hospitalized with unknown injuries.
Police say Salinas will be charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault with a motor vehicle.
